who is futurelink for?

For students, the Future Link program format allows them to work as Business Support Interns in teams of two across the province. They work with a business on a specific project for a period of 2 weeks. During that period, they are laser focused on understanding the issue the business is facing, completing the necessary research, compiling data, investigating best practices, analysing information, presenting recommendations, and innovative solutions the business can immediately act on. During their internship, students will work with 4 to 8 businesses.

For employers, the Future Link program format allows their business to receive immediate support from a team of interns while accessing future student talent to develop their workforce.

what is futurelink?

Future Link is an innovative experiential learning activity. Students from all four publicly funded universities in New Brunswick are hired by host chambers of commerce to work with their members on a variety of projects.

This program was set up to link talented students with business owners to solve complex issues and create meaningful connections between students and prospective employers.

How it works?

  • Complete the employer sign-up form indicating a summary of the challenges and the project or initiative you need help to accomplish.

  • Your request will be evaluated. If selected, a team of business support interns will spend up to two weeks researching the issue, present ideas, and solutions for your business.

  • The first cycle of the program is currently underway.

The business support intern team is comprised of two university students

  • The intern team will plan an initial meeting with your business to talk about the challenges you are facing, the project you want to work on and determine an action plan.

  • The team will plan their work with the information submitted. They will present ideas, recommendations, and solutions, while keeping you updated with a progress report. During the process, you will be able to provide feedback.

  • The team will present their finished proposal during a final meeting.
